Year 6 is an exciting yet challenging year. We have more responsibilities in Year 6 as we are role models for the
younger children. There are many clubs that we can participate in, such as rounders, football and netball.
Responsibilities: At the beginning of the year, we elect house and sports captains, who have additional responsibilities
throughout the year. We also have the opportunity to become monitors for other lunch time clubs for younger children.
In common with other year groups, we can also be elected to become school council representatives, eco warriors, worship
committee representatives and SNAG representative. In addition to this, we have the privilege of becoming junior librarians for
our school library. In school, we are continuously developing our knowledge of the English language through our study of
enjoyable books and expressing our thoughts and ideas through writing. We empathise with the characters through different
drama activities such as hot-seating, conscience alley and producing freeze frames. In Maths, we are continuing to build on what we have achieved throughout Key Stage 2 as well as developing
new understanding of increasingly complex problems. This year, our foundation subjects are centered around particular
themes such as the Antarctic and Brazil. Watch this space to find out more…
At the end of the year, we have the opportunity to go on a residential trip to the PGL Centre at Marchants Hill, Surrey.
We are planning more exciting learning opportunities for the rest of the year. Come back soon to find out more!
Our teachers are Mrs Goodwin (6G), our Year Team leader, Mrs Goldstein (6RG) and Mrs Marsden (6M).
