End of the term... End of the year... Summer Holiday time.
As we approach the end of term, and the academic year, I would like to thank you for your continued support. This term, my first as Head Teacher here, has certainly been a busy one with many highs, including our recent Ofsted Inspection. Staff have been busily preparing for next year, ensuring we take on board the comments and feedback we have been given.
Below are just a few notices and reminders:
On behalf of the staff, I would like to say ‘Thank You’ for your very generous gifts. We really appreciate your tokens of appreciations and they will be enjoyed by staff as they have a well-deserved rest.
Today we say goodbye to 83 wonderful children. It has been a real privilege to see them grow and thrive whilst they have been with us. This year they have achieved excellently academically with our strongest results in years; but not only have they achieved excellently, they have shown what talented linguistics, musicians, artists, dancers and just all round wonderful children they are. They have been a real credit to their parents and the school and we will miss them greatly, but we look forward to hearing of their successes in the years to come.
Start of Term
The children should return to school on Thursday 5th September at the normal time in their Summer Uniform. Our term dates, including our INSET days, are available on our school website. Please ensure that you take careful note of these when booking holidays as absences due to holidays will be unauthorised and the local authority will fine parents for taking their children out of school during term time. The last day of next academic year is Tuesday 21st July 2020 and children should be in school until then.
Next year, children in Year 1 to Year 4 will be swimming every week. Their swimming day will be confirmed when they return in the new year. Year 6 will swim every week during the autumn term, Year 5 will swim every week during the spring term and Reception will swim every week in the Summer Term. Please ensure your children have the correct kit ready to begin the term.
All pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a ‘universal’ free school meal each day. Parents may still provide their child with a packed lunch instead of a cooked meal, if preferred.
Children going up to Year 3 are no longer entitled to a universal free school meal and parents will need to sign up and add funds in advance to their Squid account online.
Once again, our PTA have given us wonderful support during this year. They have raised over £8000 towards supporting the school with buying those ‘added extras’. We thank the committee for their time and commitment.
This week we have said farewell to a number of members of staff: Mrs Allen, Mrs Goldstein, Mrs Cronin & Miss Vickery; Mrs Mills, Miss Luxton, Miss Clarke, Mrs Stacey, Miss Jamil, Miss Draper & Miss Cater & Miss Hunt. We wish them all the best in their new adventures.
I would like to wish you all a very happy and safe and blessed summer. We look forward to working with you and your children next year. Early in the year we will be holding parent’s meetings, in the morning and evenings, to share our vision and plans for the new year, and to allow you to hear about how you can get involved and support us and your child in their learning. Information about these will be sent out in the new term.
