Scarlet Fever and Chickenpox
We are writing to inform you that we currently have two confirmed cases of Scarlet Fever in school and one suspected case. We also have three confirmed cases of Chickenpox and one further suspected case. These cases are currently confined to Year 1 and Year 2, but we are choosing to share this information with all parents.
We ask you to read the information attached carefully and be vigilant of your child having symptoms. If your child has suspected Scarlet Fever, they should go to their GP for assessment (a throat swab), as antibiotics would be required to help treat them.
As a school, we will continue to put in place a number of infection control measures including regular hand washing and ensuring and scrapes/wounds are well covered.
As you will see from the documents attached, we are in touch Health Protection Practitioner's at Public Health England who are advising us at this time.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
