Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope you have had a wonderful week! We have had such a fantastic day in school today, celebrating World Book Day. Thank you to each and every one of you for your commitment in supporting your children to look so good! The children did some great, reading-related, activities in school. Do take a look at our school Facebook page to see lots of the highlights from the day.

As well as World Book Day today, Year 4 had a fantastic visit to the British Museum this week and we had a number of sporting events taking place, including our Year 2 athletics team who came second in the borough competition!

In school this week we have also been joined by 'Bella' Speller, my dog. She has really enjoyed being read to by the children, being shown work, being spoken to and, of course, having lots of cuddles with staff and children. She will be coming into school a few days a week and, in line with the risk assessment in place, will always be accompanied by myself. She may join me on the gate one or two days a week, do always say hello!

Please see some news items below:

Last week of school-run extra-curricular clubs

This week is the last week of extra-curricular clubs. I am so very grateful to our staff who have given up their time to, once again, run such an excellent set of clubs and activities. Please do thank these staff as you pick up your children this week. For clubs run by outside providers, please refer to their own information.

 Nursery Stay and Play

We are very excited to invite you to our Nursery stay and play sessions next week on Monday 11th March 8.30-9.30 and Wednesday 13th March 2.00pm - 3.00pm. Please let us know if you are planning to attend the Stay and Play session by signing up using this Google form: https://forms.gle/cuN2dCKqXZLwir4z6 .  This will give us an estimation of how many parents are coming into our Nursery during those sessions.

Parent Workshop: Supporting my child's mental health and wellbeing

On Thursday (14th March) we have our next set of parent workshops focusing on how we, as parents, can support our children with their mental health and wellbeing. This will be a very useful and highly informative session. They will run at 8:50am and 6pm, in the School Hall.

Big Walk and Wheel

Please see attached information promoting sustainable travel to school. The more we walk, scoot or cycle between 11th-22nd March, and log the journeys via the website, the more likely we are to win prizes for school.

The Spring issue of the Havering Go-To Guide of what's happening locally is available here , and copies of the magazine will be sent home with children next week.
