Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope this message finds you well. We’ve had an incredibly busy yet joy-filled week at school!

As many of you know, we welcomed Ofsted inspectors on Tuesday and Wednesday. They completed a ‘graded’ inspection, evaluating key areas such as the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and our Early Years provision. While we’re unable to share the inspection outcome until it is published, we’re pleased with how the visit went and look forward to sharing the report with you in the coming weeks. I would like to personally thank you for completing the parent survey—your overwhelmingly positive feedback means a lot to us. Over 90% of parents agreed that St Edward’s is a place where children achieve well, feel safe, and are happy, and would recommend our school to others. Your support is really appreciated by our school community.

It was also wonderful to see so many of you at our parent-teacher meetings this week. These sessions provided a fantastic opportunity to celebrate your children’s achievements so far this year. Thank you for your strong participation, and for those we were unable to connect with, teachers will be reaching out to schedule an alternative time shortly after the half-term holiday.

Today we wrapped up our Black History Month celebrations with our Cultural Dress Day. It was heart-warming to see students proudly celebrating the rich and beautiful diversity within our school community, making this month’s festivities even more meaningful.

As we approach the half-term break, please note that school will be closed from Monday 28th October to Friday 1st November. Students will return on Monday 4th November. If you need to reach us during the break, the school email (contact@stedwardsva.net) will be monitored daily by a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Wishing you all a safe and enjoyable half-term holiday, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 4th November.

Warm regards,
Chris Speller
