Weekly News

Dear Parents/Carers,

Happy Friday! I hope you have all had a fantastic week, despite the colder, wetter weather. This week has been incredibly joyous in school. We were delighted to share the outcome of our Ofsted inspection with you at the start of the week. A huge thank you for all of your cards, emails and warm wishes- we may not have been able to respond personally to them all, but we are so very grateful! School has also slowly but surely turned festive this week too. It is great to have the trees up, the hangers on beautiful display and the sound of rehearsals for our concerts filling the air. We are very much looking forward to celebrating this festive season with you.

Whilst the business of Christmas ensues, children have also been doing some great work, and learning continues at pace. A number of children have sat their end of term assessments this week and we are so proud of the progress they have made. These assessments are really helpful to support our staff in planning and preparation for next term as well as seeing a snap shot of how your children are doing. We look forward to sharing more about your childs progress with you at our next parent teacher meetings in the next term.

This Saturday is our school Christmas Fete which always is a real highlight of the school year! From 11am-3pm our school will be open to enjoy games, food and for us to come together as a school community. All money raised supports the school fund and the many opportunities we offer our children. Please remember to bring cash with you. We look forward to seeing many of you there! If you can spare some time to help, it's not too late to sign up

Please see other important news and notices below:

Two John's Workshop

This coming Thursday, from 5:30pm to 7pm, we have a parent workshop in the school hall which will be helping you to keep your children safe when online. The facilitators are incredible and, as two ex-police officers, bring a huge amount of experience. I cannot recommend you being at this highly enough.

We will be putting a film on in the library for children in Year 1 to Year 6 to watch, supervised by a few members of staff, if childcare is a limitation to you attending. Due to ratios needed, we will be unable to supervise children in the Early Years.

After School Club on Thursday

Due to the workshop above, After School Club will be in the Nursery on Thursday.

Christmas Music Concert

On Monday 9th December we have our end of term Music concert at St Edward's Church at 6.00pm.

Christmas Dinner and Jumper Day

On Friday 13th December we have our Christmas Jumper and School Christmas Dinner day. School meals are free for children from Reception to Year 6. There will also be an opportunity to donate to 'Save the Children' either by cash on the day or via ParentPay.

Admissions for September 2025

Applications for a Reception place should be made online via eadmissions by 15th January 2025. If you wish to apply for a Reception place for your child based on church attendance, please remember to complete and return a SIF form to the school office, as soon as possible. SIF forms are available from the school office and can also be downloaded from the school website.

Have a lovely weekend,
Kind regards,
Chris Speller
