It has been a wonderfully exciting week in school!

Yesterday, we joined people across the country in celebrating the 80th anniversary of VE Day—Victory in Europe. It was a joy to see the children dressed in red, white, and blue as we came together for a special street party lunch. The day also offered meaningful opportunities for learning and reflection on our school value of Thankfulness.

Today, we celebrated a fantastic achievement—all three Year 3 classes reached 100% attendance last week! We are incredibly proud of this milestone, which reflects the enthusiasm and commitment of our pupils. High attendance is a strong indicator that children feel happy and engaged in school. We’d like to remind all families that, in line with Local Authority policy, we are unable to authorise term-time absences. Our term dates for 2025–2026 are already available on our school website, so please do refer to them when planning holidays or leave.

This week also marked the launch of our Summer Term extra-curricular clubs. It’s been wonderful to see so many children getting involved! A few spaces remain—please pay on Parentpay if your child is interested in joining or contact the office if you have any problems.

Looking ahead: Key Stage 2 Assessments (Year 6) – Next Week

Next week, our Year 6 children will take their end-of-key-stage SATs assessments. These tests are just one part of their school journey. They do not measure the uniqueness of each child—their humour, kindness, resilience, or the challenges they’ve overcome. They do not reflect the deep relationships we’ve built with them over the years, nor the love and pride their families feel for them. The SATs are simply a snapshot in time, an expected part of school life.

Please join us in keeping our Year 6 pupils in your thoughts and prayers as they approach next week with courage, calm, and confidence.

Violin Lessons

We still have spaces available for Violin lessons for Year 2-6 children, which take place during the school day, please contact the school office if you’d like your child to take part.

Dates for next week

Year 3 & 4 Science and Geography workshop

Next week we are excited to welcome a virtual reality team into school, who will work with our Year 3 and 4 children to explore the wonder of space and rainforests using VR headsets. This will be an exciting and immersive experience, linked to our Geography and Science curriculum.

Toddler Group

Due to Year 6 SATs assessments, unfortunately our Toddler Group will not be running next Wednesday, but resumes the following week as normal.
