Weekly News
I hope you've had a positive and productive week. It’s been a vibrant and exciting time in school, with plenty of fantastic learning taking place. Despite this being a shorter half term, it’s been a joy to walk around and see students fully engaged—from discovering The Very Hungry Caterpillar in Nursery to solving complex equations in Year 6!
We’re especially proud of our Year 6 pupils, who approached their assessments this week with maturity, focus, and determination. They have represented themselves—and the school—brilliantly. With half a term still to go, they’ll continue preparing for the transition to secondary school. We’re also excited to announce that their rehearsals will soon begin for this year’s end-of-year performance: ‘Sister Act Jr.’—a show we’re sure will be a hit!
Regular attendance is vital for both academic success and personal development. We’re pleased to share that an incredible seven classes achieved 100% attendance last week—well done! A reminder that we are unable to authorise term-time absences, in line with local authority policy. As we approach the holidays, please be aware that if your child is unwell immediately before or after a school holiday, we may request medical evidence to ensure our attendance procedures are applied fairly to all families.
Today, we celebrated Mrs Ward as she begins her maternity leave next week. We wish her all the best and look forward to sharing in the joy of her new arrival soon!
Key Notices for Next Week:
Y6 Attendance - Post SATs
A reminder to parents that attendance for the summer term is vital for our Y6 pupils, as we have planned exciting activities to ensure that our they create long lasting final memories as they end their primary school journey and prepare for secondary school. Please continue to look out for information and reminders over the coming weeks.
Swimming Pool
Unfortunately, the extractor fans which are vital to our pool operating have stopped working. We have a temporary fan in place which has restricted the pedestrian path round to the Upper school. Please be careful when entering and leaving the site whilst the temporary fencing is in place.
Jewellery
Just to remind parents, in line with our school uniform policy, that jewellery should not be worn in school. In particular, we have noticed a few children coming to school with earrings.
Class Photographs – Tuesday 20th May
Class photos will take place next Tuesday. Please ensure your child wears their correct Summer Uniform. If your child usually has PE on this day, they should still come to school in full uniform (not PE kit).
Half-Term Holiday
School will close for half term on Friday 23rd May, and will reopen on Monday 2nd June.
Tutoring sessions
Please see attached flyer for tutoring sessions, provided by First Class Learning, at the school on a Saturday between 10am-4pm.
