Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope you are all well. We are at the end of what has been another busy week, both in school as well as in the wider country!

Last Saturday, we thoroughly enjoyed our school Summer Fete, which was one of the best attended yet! The weather was glorious, the dance performances were excellent and the food was delicious! We raised over £3000 as well, which will go towards our playground redevelopments which you will see emerge in the coming months.

Into the school week, Year 4 thoroughly enjoyed their 'Pilgrimage Day' to Bradwell on Tuesday. This annual event, where we join other schools in the Diocese of Chelmsford, is a chance to reflect on the rich Christian History our diocese has and the places of prayer and worship we can visit, that have been established for centuries.

On Thursday, Year 2 had a visit from the London Fire Brigade as part of their studies on the Great Fire of London. A number of Key Stage 2 children also visited the Lyceum Theatre in London on Wednesday to watch the West End production of 'The Lion King', helping inspire our Year 6 children ahead of their own production next week.

Next week is a busy week in school. Please see items of news and notices below:

Sports Days
Due to the forecasted wet weather, we chose to postpone our Sports Days today (Friday, 5th July). We are rescheduling the events as follows:
Year 5&6- Thursday 11th July from 1pm-3pm
Year 3&4- Friday 12th July from 1pm-3pm
We are hoping that Sports Day events for Nursery to Year 2 will take place on Monday as planned, however we will contact parents nearer the time if the weather does not allow for this.

Year 6 Production of Oliver Jnr
Year 6 will be performing this year’s production of 'Oliver Jnr' next week. Performances are on Monday at 2pm and Tuesday at 4pm, which is open to anyone to attend. The final performance, on Thursday at 6pm, is a ticketed event and the school office will email ticket allocations to parents on Monday.

Reports, Class Allocations and Open Evening
On Tuesday, 9th July, we will be sending home your children's end of year reports, data and attendance information. All children will be provided with one paper copy of their report, however if you require an additional copy please email Mrs Macdonald, via the school office, no later than 3pm on Monday.

Within this we will be sharing class teacher allocation for next year, which will also be shared with children during the day. Children will then meet their teachers, for the morning, on Wednesday. After school on Wednesday we will have our open evening, a chance for you to come into school, look at your children's work and speak with their current and new teachers. This will run from 3:30-5:30.

Holiday Club (HAF)
During the summer, we will be hosting our own Holiday Camp for three weeks (beginning 5th, 12th and 19th August) between 9am-3pm each day. We are aware that parents may require support with childcare, and therefore we hope this will help with this extended holiday. If you would like your children to attend, you can book them on via Parentpay under HAF Camp (Unfunded). If you need any more information, please contact the school office.
If your child is eligible for Benefits Related Free School Meals, you are entitled to a number of funded hours. Please contact Mrs Macdonald, via the School Office, for more information or book directly via Parentpay under HAF Camp (funded).

End of Year Music Concert
On Monday 15th July at 6pm, we will host our annual end of Year Music Concert at St Edward's Church. If you would like your child to perform a piece, please complete the google form
This should be completed by Monday 8th July, to allow us to confirm the program.

Outstanding Payments/ Invoices
As we approach the end of the school year we have to prepare our financial reports. If you have any invoices outstanding for Nursery, balances outstanding for Breakfast and After School Club, Swimming or Building donations, please can you make your payments as soon as possible.

Library Books
Please start looking at home for any library books that your children may still have, and arrange for these to be brought back in to school ready for our annual stock take and check. Books can be returned to class teachers or the school office.

The last day for swimming this year will be Thursday 18th July. Children should bring their swimming kit as normal for the last full week of term.

Thank you for your ongoing support and encouragement. It is very busy in school at the moment, with lots going on, but it is a real joy to see the fantastic learning and experiences your children are able to engage in, because of the hard work, dedication and commitment of our staff.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Kind regards,
Chris Speller
