Weekly Update

Friday, 30th June 2023

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope this email finds you well. It has been another exciting week of learning in school. On Tuesday, Year 4 took part in the Chelmsford Diocese Pilgrimage to Bradwell. The children had a fantastic time learning about St Cedd in the chapel there. Year 5, as part of their learning in French, visited Le Moulin Patisserie (French Cafe) in Hornchurch where they were only allowed, from when they stepped in the door to when the left, to speak in French! The children all ordered their own biscuit/pastry and enjoyed a 'chocolat chaud' too. Our Year 6 children are going to the Natural History Museum in London today too. On Monday we had a fantastic concert by our Junior and Senior Choirs, which was enjoyed by all. Although there are only a few weeks to go, learning continues so that we make the most of every opportunity before the summer term!

Please see important information below about next week!

Summer Fayre

A reminder that our school Summer Fayre/Family fun day is on Saturday 8th July from 11am-3pm. We will have bouncy castles, BBQ burgers and hot dogs, as well as lots of games with prizes to be won. Please contact my PA, David Kendrick-White, dkendrickwhite@stedwardsva.net, if you are available to help on the day.

Para Art Day
Havering Council’s SEND music session is being held this Summer holiday at Fairkytes Arts Centre. The session will be held on Friday 11th August, 1-2pm. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Extra-Curricular Clubs

As stated on our parent calendar and as shared with parents when booking, this week (Week 8) was the final week for Extra-Curricular Clubs, run by our own staff. We are SO fortunate to have had, once again, so many clubs on offer and I would like to say a big 'Thank You' to all of those staff who have given up their time to run a club this term. For clubs run by external providers (e.g. Starshine, First Class Kids Football, Razzamataz etc.) please refer to their information for term dates.

Thank you for your ongoing support. Have a lovely weekend!

Kind regards,

Chris Speller
