Weekly Update

Friday, 3rd March 2023

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope this email finds you well and that you have had a positive week in school. Today has certainly been one of the highlights of the week. It has been fantastic to see our children dressed so creatively ready to celebrate World Book Day. The children have had a lot of fantastic activities in school today, so please do ask them about their learning. You can also see some photos from the day on our school Facebook page.

Earlier this week we had the pleasure of hosting twelve members of the St Edward's Church Phoenix Club who came into school and shared stories of their own time growing up. The children compared their childhoods, including toys, holidays and school, and the children asked lots of questions. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all. In the coming weeks, as part of our 'Let's Connect' project, we will be welcoming some more groups from the local community into school to meet and speak with our children.

Please find some notices below regarding the forthcoming week:

Educational Visits

We are really proud of the variety of experiences our children have at school. A reminder that next week we have:

Year 5 visit to the Natural History Museum on Monday
2D visit to the Havering Museum on Tuesday
Year 5 visit to St Edward's Academy on Wednesday
Year 4 visit to the British Museum on Friday

Staying safe online

As we start each unit of work in Computing, we also remind our children about the importance of and how to stay safe online. It is really important that we, as parents, also have conversations with our children about their online activity. Childnet have produced some excellent resources to support with this which you can find here. https://www.childnet.com/parents-and-carers/have-a-conversation/

Kind regards,
