Weekly Update
Happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a positive week and enjoyed the sunshine that has finally made an appearance. It has been another fantastic week at school, filled with learning, celebration, and exciting opportunities for our children.
This week in Collective Worship, Mrs Sajuwa introduced the children to the season of Lent as we begin this important time of preparation leading up to Easter. The children reflected on the significance of this season, sharing what they might be giving up or new habits they hope to adopt—though we did have to veto those who suggested giving up homework!
It was wonderful to see the children dressed so brilliantly for World Book Day yesterday. A huge thank you for your creativity and enthusiasm in supporting this special day. The children also took part in a variety of reading-related activities, which they thoroughly enjoyed.
Today, some of our Travel Ambassadors attended the Borough Travel Conference to support our ongoing efforts in promoting safe and sustainable travel. You may have noticed their new banner displayed outside the school! A big thank you to all parents and carers who drive, park, and drop off safely each day, helping to keep our children and community secure.
Important Notices
Book Day Costumes – Donations Welcome!
We are very grateful to those who donate costumes (and Christmas jumpers) throughout the year. These donations help ensure that all children can take part in dressing-up days. If you have any costumes that your child has outgrown, please drop them off at the school office. We are particularly in need of larger sizes (ages 6+), but all donations are welcome!
Parent-Teacher Meetings – Book Your Slot!
Bookings are now open for our upcoming Parent-Teacher Meetings, and it’s great to see so many of you already signed up. If you need any assistance with booking, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs Power or Mrs Lynch in the school office by phone or email.
Roadworks in the Romford area
You may have seen that roadworks on the Gallows Corner flyover will be commencing from Monday. This may lead to more traffic in the area and disruption, especially for families who pass this way. Please be mindful of this when planning your journeys, to ensure your children arrive to school on time.
