Friday, 9th December 2022
I hope this email finds you well in what has been a rather chilly start to December! The Christmas joy radiating from the children has certainly warmed us all through!
Firstly, I would like to say a huge 'Thank You!' to everyone who attended our Christmas Fete last weekend. It was a really lovely event and great to see so many of our school community attend. We raised over £3000 which will greatly benefit the school. We will be speaking with the School Council about some of the nice 'added extras' that we can buy.
The Grand Prize Draw will take place on Wednesday 14th December so please get your ticket stubs and money back to us by Tuesday 13th December to be entered.
School has also been busy with preparations for our Christmas Festivities next week.

Absence and Illness
As you will be aware there is a significant amount of illness going around at the moment which has had an impact on a number of children in school in the last few weeks. We are pleased that the number of children attending school has increased as this week has gone on and as children return to being well. We would really appreciate it if you could ensure, in line with our safeguarding guidelines, that you call or email school each day that your child is unwell. The office staff, whilst being busy looking after children in school, have had to spend a significant amount of time following up on absences this week. Your help with this is greatly appreciated.
Due to Christmas activities and to allow pool maintenance, swimming lessons have now finished for this term. They will resume in the week beginning Monday 9th January.
Please see attached flyer from Razzamataz, the Theatre School club running sessions on Friday's here at school.
Building Work on site
You will have noticed that our school building work has continued at pace this week. The first of the two shared-area glass ceilings have been removed from the Lower School building. Both of these roofs should be removed and replaced, with flat suspended ceilings, before the Christmas holidays. This will make these spaces much more comfortable in both hot and cold weather.
Our ARP (Alternative Resource Provision for children with an Autistic Diagnosis) has had all of the foundation works completed and is now going 'upwards'... it is very exciting to see the building rise from the ground. This project is expected to be completed in July, with an opening in September.
Whilst these projects are both managed and completed by external contractors, we have had regular Health and Safety site inspections with them and are very pleased with the speed of the work and also how it is being managed smoothly and safely within the business of our school environment!
Have a lovely weekend,
