Weekly Update

Friday, 10th June 2022

Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope you are all well and are enjoying the warmer weatherthat this week has brought. Next week is meant to be even hotter, so it may start feeling like summer is with us!

Please remember to send your child in with their named water bottle, their school sun cap and apply sun screen before they come into school.  We have had a really positive week in school and our children have settled in excellently to their final half term of this academic year.
School is full of the sound of singing as Year 6 continue their preparations for their fantastic end of year show 'The Lion King'. Year 1 have worked incredibly hard this week with their Phonics assessments and we are really proud of their effort and achievements.
In our Collective Worship this week we looked at the bible verse John 13:34 'A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.' We talked about what our school would be like if everything we did, our words and our actions were done in love. This is the challenge we have set for our children this half term! We also sang our school 'Love will never come to an end' as a reminder that we are nothing without love!
On Tuesday, 14th June, at 6pm we have our New Parents meeting for our September Nursery and Reception cohorts. We are really excited to be meeting the new children that will be joining, or staying in, our school family in the new academic year. We now have over 650 children in our school, the most children we have had on role in many years, with four year groups being full with a waiting list. It is great to be a growing family with such a thriving community.
A few reminders below:
Chickenpox
We have continued to have a number of children off of school this week with chickenpox, particular in Nursery to Year 2. This is very much mirroring other local schools as children, not being together for a number of years, have not been exposed this highly contagious condition. Please continue to be vigilant of your children and any possible spots they may have.
Tea-towels
Our fantastic Jubilee Tea-towels are available to be purchased from our school shopThese have proved very popular so far, but there are a number still available to be purchased.
Adventure Island Wristbands
As the weather continues to improve, a reminder that you can purchase heavily discounted Adventure Island Wristbands (just £15 each) from our ParentPay school shop too.

I think that is all for now. Please continue to look at our School Facebook Page to see things that are going on throughout the week. Our Calendar is also available on the school website too.
Have a lovely weekend. Thank you for your ongoing support and prayers.

Kind regards,
Chris Speller
