I hope you have had a lovely week. We have had a fantastic week in school with children back in a good rhythm of learning after the holiday. Year 3&4 had an excellent trip to the cinema this week and Year 2, Year 5 & Year 6 look forward to their visit next week.
The theme of our collective worship this week has been about memories. We talked about memories that are special and important to us. We remembered, in line with national celebrations, Armistice Day yesterday, with our children joining the nation in a two minutes silence, remembering those who gave their lives for our freedom.
Please see, below, a number of important messages for this coming week.
Photographer in school next week
On Wednesday and Thursday next week, our school photographers will be in to take photos of individuals and a photograph of siblings. Individual photos will take place on Wednesday. Sibling photos will take place on Thursday. If you would like the photographer to take a photo of your children together, please complete the Google Form by 9am on Tuesday 16th November: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSezyaRQhXZUU6apdJdG2IYpfpKD7VG3tcETttcGkdaf6w8GwA/viewform?usp=sf_link
Swimming and PE changes next week
Our Swimming Teacher is not in school on Wednesday next week. Swimming lessons will be adjusted accordingly:
- 1CS will swim on Thursday afternoon, rather than Wednesday afternoon.
- 6G’s swimming session will unfortunately not be able to take place next week.
Due to our photographer being in, children in Year 4, Year 2, 1J and 1K will need to come into school in their school uniform on Wednesday and Thursday, instead of their PE kits.
Due to the hall being in use for school photographs on Wednesday morning there will be no toddler group next week. Sessions will resume on Wednesday 24th November.
A reminder that our Shoebox appeal boxes are due in by Friday 19th November. We have a number of empty, flatpack boxes which you are welcome to collect from the office.
If you have any 'too small' jumpers that you are able to donate to school, please bring these to the office by the end of November. They will be washed a redistributed to those who need them.
St Edward's Church Choir
On Thursday, Andrew Morrison, the interim Director of Music, came to our Key Stage 2 assembly to talk about the school choir. Children have gone home this week with a leaflet inviting them to a taster day.
Please continue to be careful of COVID symptoms in your household, cases are still high locally. We encourage families to take part in regularly Lateral Flow testing, which will allows us to spot cases before they spread in school.
We very much look forward to meeting with you as part of our Parent Teacher Consultation Meetings next week. Have a lovely weekend.
