I hope you have had an enjoyable week. We have had a real positivity around school as we have celebrated the news of our Inclusion Quality Mark 'Centre of Excellence' status. Thank you for all your kinds words and encouragements this week. It has been a busy week in school too with a number of sports trips and with Year 5 going to London today. We look forward to hearing about their trip on their return. Today we held our Harvest assemblies in school. A huge 'Thank You' for your very generous donations, which will be taken to the Romford Food Bank, by some of our children, after Half Term.
As we head into the last week of term, there are a number of notices for you to see below:
As you will be aware, next Friday (21st October) is an INSET day and therefore children will not attend school on this day. Term finishes at normal time on Thursday, 20th October. School is closed next week for half term. Children return, at normal time, on Monday 31st October 2022.
Black History Month Celebration
We have had a fantastic month of celebrations as part of our Black History Month program. This coming Thursday, we encourage all children to cultural dress or something colourful. We are also welcoming donations of £1 for this non-uniform day, which will go to the 'Sickle Cell Society'.
School Appeal letters
Today we will be sending home letters as part of our annual school appeal. As a voluntary aided school, we have to maintain our school buildings ourselves, without funding from the council. This means that the school has a responsibility to fundraise and to ask our community to support maintaining the site. It is only through these donations that we can sustain our pool and invest in new outdoor play equipment. We ask you to consider if you are able to invest in our school community in this way, so please return completed forms to the finance office.
A reminder that children return to Winter Uniform after the Half Term holiday. Children wearing a shirt should also have a school tie, which is available from our School Shop. A reminder too that children must have a swimming hat to swim. These too are available from the school office. For health and hygiene reasons, we are not able to lend children swimming hats.
As we approach the end of the half term, please ensure all library books are returned to school. If you have any reading books, phonics books etc. at home, we would be grateful if these are returned too.
I think that is all for now. Have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing your children back in school on Monday, ready for the start of the new half term.
