Weekly Update

Friday, 10th November 2023

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope you have had a fantastic week. It has been very busy in and out of school this week! We have really enjoyed our visits to the cinema as part of our intu film week. Our Facebook page is also full of some of the fantastic learning opportunities children have had this week, from DT days, to Science experiments and some fantastic writing too! A big 'well done' to our Year 5&6 Football teams who represented our school excellently on Thursday.

Today, we marked Remembrance Day at 11am with a minute silence. Our children completed this with great reverence and respect.

A huge 'Thank You' for working with us to ensure that your children attend school regularly. Last week we had three classes with '100% attendance', all of whom will be celebrating with a non-uniform day, which the children are very excited about. Over 450 children in school currently have 97% attendance or higher, missing no days or just one day so far, which is excellent too. There is SO much evidence that shows that children who attend school regularly achieve well, in primary school and beyond, so thank you for working to ensure your children get the best start to their education by ensuring they attend regularly.

We are very excited to welcome parents/carers into school for our parent meetings on Monday and Wednesday. We will also have a Parent Survey which we will ask parents to complete whilst in school. We really appreciate the feedback we get from parents as this helps us move our excellent school from strength to strength, so your time with this will be really appreciated.

Sorry for my longer than normal message... it is great that there is so much to celebrate! Please see the notices below:

School Photos- Individual and Sibling: Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th

As shared on our Parent Calendar, next Wednesday and Thursday (15th and 16th), children will be having their school photos taken. Nursery and Reception children will be taken first thing on Wednesday 15th.

During the school day, we will also be taking photos with children who have siblings in the school. If you have younger/older siblings who you would like to join in the photos, you are welcome to come to school on Thursday 16th between 8:15 and 8:30. Depending on the number of people who attend, you may have to wait a short time. Unfortunately, anyone who arrives after 8:30 will not be able to be admitted.

Save the date – Christmas Fete!

Our Christmas Fete takes place on Saturday 9th December, 11am-3pm. We have lots of exciting games and activities planned, and there will even be the chance to see Father Christmas for a photo and present! As part of our fundraising efforts, all money raised on the day will support the school fund and help with the extra resources and experiences that we plan for our children.

Odd Sock Day

Next week we will be celebrating 'Friendship Week' in school, celebrating this special school value and thinking about how we look after and love one another in our school. To mark this, on Monday we encourage children to come in wearing odd socks! The wackier the better!

Shoe box Appeal

Thank you to those families who have already brought in their shoeboxes for collection. A reminder that these are due into school by Friday 17th November.

Have a lovely weekend,
