Weekly Update

Friday, 17th March 2023

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope this email finds you well on this rather damp day. This week, as you will be aware, has been somewhat shorter due to the Industrial Action taking place. We were pleased to be able to have Nursery, Reception and Year 6 in school. We have also had a number of Year 5 children taking part in Bikeability this week and it has been great to see them learning about how to stay safe when out on the road. The children thoroughly enjoyed this experience and we look forward to being able open this opportunity up to more children later in the year. Today has also been an exciting day for our Year 1 children, who have visited the Lambourne End Centre, and Year 3 who have thoroughly enjoyed their Greek Workshop Day.

Next week, we have some Head Teacher colleagues coming to the school on Monday-Wednesday who will be carrying out a peer review of our school as part of a 'Challenge Partners' program we are taking part in this year. We know we have many, many strengths as a school, but it is healthy to allow others in to celebrate in those successes with us and also challenge us on our continual journey of improvement. We look forward to sharing some of the feedback from this process with you.

Please see below a number of notices for the coming weeks:

Love Beyond

A number of families in our school have been involved in developing a musical called LOVE BEYOND which is a show that tells the 'overarching story of God’s tireless pursuit of humanity's affection and their unknowing battle with an enemy that entices them away with misinformation and lies'. More information about a forthcoming performance, on 23rd April, can be found on the flyer attached.

Community Cupboard

We are looking to open a 'Community Cupboard' in our school (in the old Uniform PTA shed on the top path) which will act as a swap shop/donation base for parents to give a new home to old, good condition, toys, books, dressing up clothes, good quality clothes (coats etc). We would really appreciate a group of two or three parents who would be interested to help manage/organise/keep this space tidy. This would be an ad-hoc role, a few minutes to check it when you are passing, and help take ownership for this. If you are interested, please contact the School Office.
