Weekly Update

Friday, 17th June 2022

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope this email finds you well, even in this rather warm weather! There is mixed joy feeling like summer has come, but also feeling quite hot!

Yesterday, our Year 6 children (and some Year 5 friends) went to London to watch The Lion King at the Theatre. The children were treated to an excellent performance which will inspire them as Year 6 head towards their own performance of The Lion King Jr. later this term. The children, whilst waiting to go into the theatre, did their own street performance of their songs which drew quite a crowd... and even had the cast members lean out of the theatre windows to clap them! The children were an excellent credit to the school and we were, once again, praised for how fantastic each and every one of them were. Next year, we are looking to formalise our 'St Edward's Experiences'... those things we think that all children should have the opportunity to experience before they leave school, both on site and as part of our school trips. More information will come out about this in the new year!

At the end of school today, as part of our fundraising activities for the school fund, we will be selling ice creams and lollies at the main gate. Please make sure you bring cash if you would like to purchase anything.

Please see the notices below:

School Caps

School Caps are available from our school office. Please purchase these from the ParentPay shop online, and they will be taken to your child.

Water bottles in school

A number of children are still coming to school without a water bottle, even in this hot weather. Pleasure ensure your child brings one in with them every day. On hotter days, please also apply sun cream before they come to school.

School Car Park

A small handful of parents have been spoken to this week about walking through the car park at the start/end of the day, whilst cars are moving, or driving into the car park to drop their children off. We politely ask parents not to do either of these as they create health and safety/insurance risks for the school. Thank you for your cooperation in this.
