Weekly Update

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope this newsletter finds you well. It has been an incredibly busy week at school!

At the start of the week, our Year 6 students attended their annual leavers' service at Chelmsford Cathedral. They thoroughly enjoyed reflecting on their time at St Edward's and looking forward to the many new experiences they will encounter at their new schools. The adults leading the service repeatedly commented on how mature, polite, and engaged our students were. We are incredibly proud of them.

Our Year 5 students also had an enriching visit to the Tower of London, linked to their History topic: Britain 1400-1600. They explored the White Tower, walked the castle walls, and participated in a workshop led by a merchant from the 1400s. We are privileged to provide such excellent educational visits to support our children's learning.

In school, our Year 1 children, along with some Year 2 students, undertook their phonics screening check this week. They performed fantastically, demonstrating their excellent learning, and we are expecting our strongest results yet. We look forward to sharing these results with parents in your child's report later this year.

There is so much more we could share, but I will leave it there. Please visit our Facebook page and your child's Dojo page (for children in Years 2 and upwards) for more updates on what your child is learning.
