Weekly Update
Thursday, 25th May 2023
Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope this email finds you well as we approach the end of this half term. It has been great to have the sun shining this week as we have made the most of our learning opportunities together.
On Monday, Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed their trip to Namco Bowling as a post-assessment 'treat'. Our Nursery children have been having their first trip out of school this week, going to the local post box to send letters home. On Tuesday, we had a very successful whole school photo. The children were excellently behaved and followed instructions brilliantly to ensure the photo was taken smoothly and safely. There is an excellent time-lapse video on our school Facebook page so that you can see the construction of the photo in high speed. On this day we also had our best school attendance of the whole year - 98.7% - with just 7 children in the whole school absent.
At St Edward's we feel it is very important to make parents aware of what your child(ren) will learn during the year. The Summer 2 knowledge organisers, outlining the subjects and topics your children will be learning, can be found at the bottom of 'The Curriculum' page on our school website. Please do take a look at this over the holiday so that you can engage with your child in their learning.
As you will be aware, tomorrow is an INSET day in school and then next week is half term holiday. Whilst school is closed our contact@stedwardsva.net email address will be monitored throughout the holiday if you need any help or support.
Children return, at normal time, on Monday 5th June for the final half term of this academic year. This is certainly going to be a busy one with a number of trips, our sports day, Year 6 production and leavers events, transition days with new class teachers.... I am sure the rest of the year will fly by! All dates can be found on the calendar on our school website, as always.
Have a wonderful half term holiday and we look forward to welcoming you back for the last few weeks of this academic year!
Thank you for your ongoing support, encouragement and prayers.
Kind regards,
Chris Speller
