Weekly Update

Friday, 17th September 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you have had a fantastic week and that you are well settled into a new routine for the year. Walking around this week, it has been brilliant to see the children so focused on their learning and also enjoying being back together and enjoying each other’s company.

As we continue into September, we do ask parents to continue to be vigilant around COVID symptoms. A number of local schools are seeing a rise in cases and we want to do all we can to keep our school and community safe. We encourage parents to engage in the LFD testing program and, if your children or anyone in their household develop COVID symptoms, take them for a PCR test. By looking out for each other at this time, we keep our whole community safe.

Next week is a very exciting week for our Year 6 children (and myself!) as we head off to Carroty Wood for their residential. This is an excellent time for them to build strong and lasting relationships, through this excellent shared experience, as they go into this final year at St Edward's. Please keep us all in your thoughts and prayers as we are away. Mrs Sajuwa will be holding the fort at school, so please do not hesitate to contact her if you need to.

School Clubs

It has been fantastic to see so many children sign up to our school clubs this term. There is still time to sign up with clubs starting the week beginning Monday 27th September, as shared in the school calendar. The dates for the clubs are as follows:

1) Mon 27th Sep;     2) Mon 4th Oct;       3) Mon 11th Oct;        4) Mon 18th Oct

5) Mon 1st Nov;       6) Mon 8th Nov;       7) Mon 22nd Nov;      8) Mon 29th Nov

Please also see the attached flyer for the Razzamataz Theatre School, who meet in our hall after school every Friday (please contact them directly if you are interested in this).

Admissions for Nursery and Reception in September 2022

We are now carrying out a number of tours for families with children who are due to start Nursery/School in September 2022. If you, or people you know, have children who are 3 or 4 years old, please do not hesitate to contact the Office to come and look around. We would love to have another full cohort of children in September, and word of mouth is an excellent way of sharing our school with people, so please do support us in sharing the great things we are doing with your friends!

Have a fantastic weekend. Stay safe and enjoy time with those you love. Thank you for your ongoing support, encouragement, prayers and good wishes. They are very much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Chris Speller
