Weekly Update

Friday, 30th April 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope this email finds you well on this beautiful summers day! We have had a really positive week in school and it has been great to see the children so settled and focused on their learning. In the coming weeks the government will be releasing their updated guidance for schools, in line with the government’s national roadmap out of lockdown, and we will use this as an opportunity to reflect on what we are doing and why, as a school, in line with local and national guidelines.

There have been two particular highlights for me this week. Firstly, Years 4-6 were able to gather together, outdoors, for a time of Collective Worship this week, joined by Father David from St Edward's Church. It is great that we can be together, as a larger group, doing an activity that would be so 'normal' to us in non-COVID times. Secondly, it has been fantastic to see so many children engaging in our extra curricular program. To see children starting and ending the day engaging in music, sport and creative activities has been fantastic.

Now, onto a few notices:

Job Vacancies

We currently have a few support staff roles advertised on Havering School Jobs, for Midday Assistants and an Evening and Weekend Lettings Assistant. The full list of adverts can be found here: https://ats-haveringschools.jgp.co.uk/

A reminder that children should not be coming into school if they, or anyone in their household, is showing COVID symptoms. Children are welcome to bring in a small, labeled pot of hand moisturizer as children are still washing their hands very frequently.

Wider Notices

Attached to this email are three adverts/posters:

  • Beavers and Scouts are reopening at St Edward's Church and they have a few places available for children who are interested;
  • Some of our parents are running a Saturday School as part of their Education Company - a leaflet is attached;
  • North East London NHS Trust are running a parent workshop to support children who are 'fussy eaters' for any parents who are interested.

Finally, as I am sure many of you know, we are now entering into a Bank Holiday weekend and school is therefore closed on Monday. We look forward to welcoming your children back at 8:35a.m. on Tuesday.

Have a fantastic weekend,

Kind regards,

Chris Speller
