Weekly Update

Friday, 8th October 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope this email finds you well. The Month of October has welcomed an exciting launch to our Black History Month theme ‘WHO I AM’.  It has been such a special week with volunteers and songs from different African countries.  All our amazing staff have ensured that this has been a memorable week for all of our children at St Edward’s.

We want to say a big thank you to our kitchen staff and Yetunde Adewusi, who is a parent at our school and also an African caterer. Yetunde has been in the kitchen with our staff cooking delicious meals as part of our Black History Month menu celebrations.

Our Black History Month Celebrations continues next week when we are joined by members from the BBC’s featured choir, ‘Gospel Essence’ together with African dancers, Ashley from Cbeebies ‘Jo Jo & Gran Gran’ and Yemisi.  We are so excited as a school to celebrate the rich culture of our St Edward’s community.

Our Song for this month is ‘WHO I AM’ by Sinach.  If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit our Facebook page and see our children singing beautifully to this, please use the link below and be amazed!
