Weekly Update

Wednesday, 31st March.

Dear Parents/Carers,

Well here we are at the end of another term, a term like no other! Thank you so much for your ongoing love, support and encouragement that you give us each and every day. We are truly blessed to work in such a great partnership with our parents and wider community. Below are a few important messages for you as we head into the school holidays.

Alternative Dismissal Yesterday

As you will all be aware, we had a rather dramatic end to school yesterday, having to dismiss our children through St Peter's. We are pleased that the incident was resolved quickly. As a school, we have a number of emergency contingency plans, including procedures to dismiss children through St Peter's and we are delighted that what we have written on paper worked smoothly in practice! The staff at St Peter's commented on how well behaved our children were, how polite our parents are and how fantastic our staff responded... all of which I wholeheartedly agreed with. Thank you for your support and patience in ensuring that everything happened smoothly and safely. I very much hope we will not have to do that again!

Uniform

Please ensure that children come into school in their Summer Uniform after the holidays. At the end of the first week we will be doing a uniform audit and contacting parents if changes need to be made.

The PTA will be holding a, weather dependent, uniform sale on Friday 16th April between 10-12 in the school car park.

During the summer term, the Governors have agreed to run a consultation with parents regarding our school uniform, to look at how we can, first and foremost, maintain the smart and traditional look of our uniform, which we pride ourselves on, whilst also ensuring it is practical, consistent and cost effective for parents. This will follow shortly after the Easter Holidays.

Staffing Update

We are very sad to say that Mrs Cutmore will be leaving us today, after 17 years working at St Edward's to move to a new role, outside of education, which is much closer to her home. We thank her for her constant dedication and commitment to our children over many years and wish her all the best in her new adventures.

We are very pleased to say that Mrs Sajuwa, our Deputy Head, will be returning from maternity leave after the Easter holidays. I am sure you will all join me in giving her a very warm 'welcome back!'.

As you will be aware, tomorrow is an INSET day and therefore school is closed to children. Children return to school on Monday 19th April.

I wish you all a happy and blessed Easter.

Kind regards,

Chris Speller
