Weekly update: 29th May 2020
I hope this email finds you well and that you, and your children, have had an enjoyable Half Term holiday.
We have been very busy in school preparing for a number of children, in Nursery, Reception and Year 1, to return to school next week. Classrooms have been rearranged, paths have been marked out and teachers have been planning fun and exciting activities for the children to do, alongside the resumption of their face-to-face in school learning.
As explained before, another group of children will be invited to return on 15th June (including Year 6), and we will have a final intake of children returning on 29th June. We will write to you nearer the time regarding which groups of children will be invited back when and we will ask parents to ‘register’ their children to return, if they wish. This will be based on our staffing capacity, the space we have in school to accommodate children safely, and any Government guidance which will be around the spread of the virus and other national procedures that are put in place.
We have decided this week, with the agreement of our Governors and the Local Authority, that we will be rescheduling two INSET days that we lost this term, and we will move them to the end of the year. This will allow us, as a staff, to ensure we have put everything in place to prepare for the new Academic Year. The last day children will therefore attend school this academic year will be Thursday, 16th July for those in ‘Year Group Bubbles’ and Friday 17th July for those in the ‘Key Worker Bubble’.
Next week, our Friday Celebration assembly will be resuming. We would therefore love for you to continue sending in pictures of the work you have been doing at home to our school office email: firstname.lastname@example.org
We will be continuing to provide home learning packs for all year groups. Next weeks packs are now available online at can be found here.
Our staff will also be continuing to regularly phone those families who are at home. I would like to remind you that these calls will often come from a ‘Withheld number’ so please do look out for these. These calls are a great opportunity for you to share any questions, queries or problems you have, so that we, as a school, can do all we can to support you at this time.
A reminder too that, although the School Office will remain ‘closed’ to face-to-face contact, you can always call us between 9am-3pm and you can email the school account, which is also monitored in the evenings and at weekends.
Our PTA will be holding a Second Hand Uniform Sale tomorrow between 8.30am and 12noon in the School Car Park
I hope you have a fantastic week- the weather continuing as it has been helps greatly!
Kind regards and many blessings,
