Year 5 have enjoyed their new book 'Way Home'

Year 5 children have been enjoying their new class book 'Way Home', an emotional story about a homeless boy caring for a stray cat. We used 'hot-seating', which encourages children to get inside a book character's head, understanding and empathizing with his thoughts and feelings, which in turn supports children with their literacy writing. The children were really engaged, and produced some fantastic pieces of writing. Well done!
