Why St Edward's?

• Ofsted rated 'Good' in May 2019 with the inspectors saying that 'there is effective teaching across the school... with strong subject knowledge and appropriate challenge for pupils, including the most able';
• Our Key Stage 2 results in 2024 exceeded national averages in all areas;
• Our children are polite, well mannered and very well behaved, with our strong Christian values permeating all we do, whilst still being inclusive of church and non-church attending families;
• We offer wrap-around child care, with our breakfast and after school being available from 7:30am until 6pm.

At St Edward’s we pride ourselves on offering children the best possible start to their school life.  Our Nursery is run by experienced, highly trained staff who plan engaging, challenging activities to suit each child’s individual needs.  We use a key person approach to ensure that each family can develop positive relationships with their child’s key person and can stay well informed about their child’s education.

Our provision, both indoor and outdoor, is set up to allow children to develop into confident, independent learners.  We have strong links with our parish church, St Edward’s the Confessor.

We have two Nursery sessions during the day, a morning session from 8.35-11.35 and an afternoon session from 12.30-3.30.  We also offer 30 hours provision to all children whose parents are eligible for the extra funding.  Parents not eligible for additional funding may pay for additional hours if they wish. Our sessions are flexible, so you can choose sessions and timings to suit your individual requirements.  We are also able to offer places in our breakfast and after school clubs, allowing wrap around care from 7:30am until 6pm.

Children who access our full-time provision have the option of a nutritious hot school dinner at lunchtime, which comes at a small charge.
